John Siergiej has over 30 years of experience in the computer industry. John's work goes back to the Internet boom era when everyone wanted a network and to experience the world wide web for the first time. Over time, John has developed a diverse tool-chest of knowledge in computer systems and support. He learned early on that to be successful in IT, you should diversify your training to expand your areas of expertise. John's philosophy falls easily in-line with the CompTIA certifications methodologies.
John has been at the forefront in creating the new, soon to be offered A.A.S. degree in Information Technology at KCC. This degree will offer classes in diverse technologies giving its students the expertise needed to excel in the dynamic and rapidly evolving IT industry.
He holds a master's degree in cyber forensics and security from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and also a bachelor's degree and master's degree from Lewis University in Romeoville. He strongly believes you should not teach a certification unless you also hold it, and so John also has CompTIA ITF+, CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications. Additionally, John still remembers the basics of DOS, how to flip switches and install jumpers.
